Two weeks ago we threw a little get together over at RdV in the meatpacking district to celebrate the completion of our newest project, IMHC REMIX. All the songs from our first album, it’s my heart, cookie, remixed by the best and brightest producers and DJs from NYC. We released a special edition CD that night, but to anyone who wasn’t able to make it out, it is now available on our bandcamp.

Our friends at KeapHope had some nice words and nicer pictures and Suite 903 took some time out to interview the lady of the evening

Hey guys, got another remix for you intrepid young scholars of music and culture. This time its Take the Hit – Alfred Jenkins Remix.

You ask yourself, “Who is Alfred Jenkins?”

We would reply, “Not who…Why is Alfred Jenkins?”

Then you would say, “…um, what?”

Honestly, we’re just as confused as you are.

He might come out at night to feed, or he just might be some guy who makes good music…or both…either way his remix is dope. Please enjoy.

New Remixes…pt1

Hey everyone, we’re going to be dropping a ton of remixes on you in the upcoming weeks. To kick things off we’ve chosen a remix of the first track off of It’s My Heart, Cookie: He Needs Me (Sam Jones Remix).

In addition to the new remixes we are changing our name for reasons you can see here – Too many Jades

We have decided to call ourselves Blind Benny. Take a minute. Breath it in. We had to also. Nothing is changing, but the name. Same music. Same me. If you see me on the street now you can say, “Hey! You’re Jade from Blind Benny!” rather than “Hey! You’re Jade…you know…like the stone.”

It’s better for all of us this way.

We’ll keep you posted on any/all of the changes to our various websites & social media.

Anyway, out with the old and in with the new. I give you He Needs Me (Sam Jones Remix)

What happens when Brooklyn’s poetically poignant songstress JADE<3 combines forces with some of the staples of New York City’s nightlife? Don’t know?! We didn’t either. So we decided to find out by enlisting the skill and talent of some of New York City’s best and brightest DJ’s and producers. The first to answer the call: DJ Melo-X and Fonda from Team Facelift. Plato said, “Music and rhythm find their way into the secret places of the soul.” Melo’s rendition of “Drown Me Out” not only finds its way in, but also decides to stop, stay, and party. His blog says it best, “I’m in love with this woman. And she knows it!!!!” Meanwhile, Fonda has taken JADE<3’s single, “Up and Out” from mid-tempo magic to upbeat mayhem. Like two sides of the same coin JADE<3 describes his remix as, “…a flip side to how I would’ve written that song had I been a dude.” This refreshing approach has already garnered the attention of remix powerhouse and Dim Mak founder, Steve Aoki, in care of famed digital distributor, RcrdLbl.com.
