What happens when Brooklyn’s poetically poignant songstress JADE<3 combines forces with some of the staples of New York City’s nightlife? Don’t know?! We didn’t either. So we decided to find out by enlisting the skill and talent of some of New York City’s best and brightest DJ’s and producers. The first to answer the call: DJ Melo-X and Fonda from Team Facelift. Plato said, “Music and rhythm find their way into the secret places of the soul.” Melo’s rendition of “Drown Me Out” not only finds its way in, but also decides to stop, stay, and party. His blog says it best, “I’m in love with this woman. And she knows it!!!!” Meanwhile, Fonda has taken JADE<3’s single, “Up and Out” from mid-tempo magic to upbeat mayhem. Like two sides of the same coin JADE<3 describes his remix as, “…a flip side to how I would’ve written that song had I been a dude.” This refreshing approach has already garnered the attention of remix powerhouse and Dim Mak founder, Steve Aoki, in care of famed digital distributor, RcrdLbl.com.
